After reviewing the dynamometer results I figured that there was definitely going to be some form of improvement over stock. However as soon as my first post-install test drive transpired, I have to say that improvement was an understatement.
Firstly, the install was a cake walk taking very little time to remove the stock unit and even less time to install the new BMS CAI. The issues relate to how tight some of the stock bolts and/or screws are on the Optra5 (Reno for the Suzuki folk).
Secondly, the quality of the molded pieces is absolutely incredible, rigid and well engineered on the outside and slippery smooth like silk on the inside, just perfect for allowing rushes of cold air to flow freely in through the length of the intake towards the throttle body.
Thirdly, the sound of the unit under normal sub-3500rpm partial throttle is barely differentiable from stock, and this is a good thing. However under heavy/wide-open throttle this wee beastie starts roaring, which leads to my final point.
Lastly, the power different and throttle response is quite apparent. I realise that many may feel it is purely a sensation one gets when installing new kit on their automobiles but I can assue everyone that this truly works, and works well.
A MUST HAVE for any Chevy Optra (Suzuki Forenza)/Chevy Optra5 (Suzuki Reno) owners. Our wonderful Opel motors have always had a weak spot when it came to the intake and short of a QED intake from the UK or a set of 45 mm Weber DCOE's the Boshart Engineering/Boshart Motorsports CAI is one of the single best buys for improving this engine.
